Labor Day Weekend

We had a great Labor Day Weekend. From a night at a friends house, a wonderful wedding in downtown KC, to my Pi Phi 10 year Class Reunion at Deanna Rose Farmstead, Bowling in Topeka, Chuck-e-Cheese, and ending it celebrating my brother's big 3-0 at our favorite, La Fiesta! Ha. I'm back at blogging again...we shall see how long this lasts!

At 5 months old Charlie is...

Eating baby food...started with veggies!

He is not a fan of peas (just like his parents)

He loves Sweet Potatoes and Carrots

Green Beans are also another favorite

Charlie grabs at everything

He is able to sit up but still falls from side to side

Can roll over from back to front

Prefers to roll to his left

Can push himself up on all 4's - the boy is strong!

Talks gibberish out loud

Has the cutest laugh

Loves it when daddy tickles him

Always wants to know where daddy is in the room

Is on the move...trying to figure out how to crawl

Can't quite figure out how to move his arms when crawling - legs no problem!

Still loves to snuggle with us!

Recognizes us when we walk into rooms

Knows his name

SMILES ALL THE TIME!

Charlie has a new obsession with sticking his tounge out and has also started to drool...

I laid Charlie down on the floor on a towel while I got his bath water ready...when I turned around I found him chuckling out loud with the biggest grin while peeing into mid air! I died laughing...it never fails...he loves the fresh air I guess!

Cousin Abby's 2nd Birthday

On Saturday, April 17th we celebrated Abby's 2nd Birthday!

Hard to believe little Abby is already 2 years old. When you'd ask Abby how old she was she would say "two" with the sweetest voice and hold up two fingers. She is adorable!

She loved her 'Tink' hot wheels we got her! Abby had the cutest Tinkerbelle party with matching decorations! It was such a fun day - Charlie even wore his party hat!

Charlie had his very first hair cut today!

He did an amazing job and didn't cry once. He slept through most of it but when he was awake just stared at Melissa wondering what she was doing to his hair. Mommy of course saved lots of it and it's amazing how dark the hair is that we cut off. Now his hair looks like it's lighter in color so I wonder if he is going to have lighter hair.

Granny Kathi's Birthday Party

Sunday, April 11th we ventured to Topeka to celebrate Granny Kathi's Birthday party. We had a great time hanging out with the family. We treated Granny to the Japenese Steak House for her Birthday and then had wonderful cake and ice cream. It was a wondeful day! Happy Birthday Granny!

I know, I know...I have been very bad about keeping up with this blog. Well, I'm back at it! ha.

We are about to have a baby!!!! aaaahhhh!!!! We can't wait. Next doctors appointment is this coming Monday so hopefully we will have a plan in place. I am 38 weeks, dilated to just a 1, and at our 36 week appoinment they did another sonogram and the baby was weighing in at 6 pounds and 8 ounces then. So, I am very ready to have our child!!! Here are a couple of 3D pictures from our 36 week sono. I'm dying to know if it's a boy or a girl - can't wait! The one thing we do know from the sono is it has tons of black hair!

Memorial Day Weekend! My family came and my Mother -In law and Father -in Law came down for a fun dinner in Manhattan.

My brother made the meat with his new smoker! We had salmon and pork and boy was it just delicious. My brother has become quite the cook - I am so impressed and proud of him! He needs to teach me with some cooking lessons - ha!

We ventured to Wichita to see my father-in Law get inducted into the Kansas Bowling Hall of Fame! This was really neat and such a huge honor for Rex! We are very proud.

Colorado Trip - My 30th Birthday

Colorado doesn't know what hit them the weekend we arrived....oh boy! My entire family - Mom, Dad, Pat, Ashley, Janna, Evan, Bern, and I ventured out to Colorado for a long weekend!!! It was definitely one of the greatest weekends ever. Thank you Allison and Steve and Justin and Steph for showing us such a great weekend!!! We can't thank you guys enough for your hospitality and your countless trips to the airport! We truly appreciate it all. We did lots of celebrating in the beautiful downtown Denver. Hit Boulder on the day of the game! The weather was perfect all weekend long!!!

The Month Of October!

Bern and I had an amazing October! The first full week we spent with great friends in Turks and Caicos! Boy, what am amazing trip. The water in Turks was priceless. We spent many great hours relaxing ocean or pool side. Thousands of games of UNO! OUR FAVORITE. We played UNO on the beach and they of course every night in the Carson Mansion before we went to dinner. We even got a hilarious game of Dirty Scrabble in!

Oprah Trip

I'm way behind on my blogging! Back at the end of August my mother -in-law and I attended Oprah! We are still in shock that we were able to get tickets. And, guess who we got to see.....Gwyneth Paltrow and Mario Batali. It was amazing. The show has already aired and we made national television at the very beginning as the cameras scanned the audience. We had an amazing time and truly a wonderful memory! Thank you Kathi for an amazing Oprah Trip!!!

Two weekends ago we ventured to Wichita for the weekend! We had a great time. Bern and his partner Chris ended up winning their flight in the golf tournament! Wichita has some great shopping.....Eccentricity was having some great sales. And, Eccentricity opened stores in both Salina and Lawrence as well. Another great store if you make it to Wichita is Fru Fru! Great stuff.

As I sit here and get excited about this years Country Stampede I went to the web-site to check things out. So, I started looking through the photos they have from previous years and look what I ran across......yes, my sister and Kate! I am getting my cowgirl hat ready.....Sugarland here I come!

Katie's Bridal Shower

This weekend my mom and I threw a Bridal Shower for Katie! We had a wonderful time and it was great to catch up with everyone. We are so happy for Geoff and Katie and can't wait for the bid day to arrive. Later that night we all went out to dinner and had a great evening to top it off! Geoff and Bern dove head first into the belfast bombers......oh and the long island ice tea's...how could I forget!

We just got back from Tucson where we went to visit my aunt and uncle! We had such a great time it was hard to leave. Great weather and so relaxing! We shared many great laughs and lots of great memories. Went golfing, shopping, hiking, ate at some great restaurants, a day trip to Noglaes, Mexico, and had the best time just relaxing at their place. The view from there backyard is amazing...and watching the sunset each night is priceless. Thanks Brad & Lexy for a great week!

Our Trip to The Tucson

Our our trip to Tucson we visited the Arizona - Sonoma Desert! It was just amazing. The wildlife there is truly a site to see. http://www.desertmuseum.org/ Here are just some pictures from our hike through the desert museum. The beaver was my favorite cause it was doing all sorts of tricks for us in the water. Janna is so freightened by snakes...we didn't see any that weren't in cages...however we tried to scare her many times! We even got to see a mountain lion and havolenias. Such an adventure!

Memorial Day Weekend

Our Memorial Day was very special as we celebrated two weddings and met the newest addition to the Ryan Family!!! We started off our weekend Thursday night when Mike, Mags, and Kate came to visit us! We had such a great time visiting and catching up. We were so excited to see them that I didn't even get any pictures...darn it.

Saturday we headed to Lawrence for Austin and Karley Porter's Wedding! WHAT A FUN WEDDING THIS WAS!!! Our early morning flight the next day was very hard to make...... Austin and Karley are such a neat couple. We are very happy for the two of them!

Then we headed to Tampa, Florida for Bern's cousin's wedding! What a beautiful wedding!!! Check out all the amazing flowers!!! We had a great time with his family - lots of great memories we will never forget.

And, a great day was spent at the beach!

On our way home we met little Taylor Ryan! She is so adorable and precious.....we got to see her smile and even fall asleep in my arms. Taylor is one lucky baby to have such wonderful parents so full of life and love!

Gardening......Before Picture

Well, I am attempting to Garden....yes Garden. I know it scares me too. I am growing (trying to grow) tomatoes, green peppers, jalapeno peppers, then some herbs like cilantro, basil, rosemary and a few others. Bern makes some excellent salsa!!! This is the before picture....before I got everything planted. Stay tuned for the after picture....
